In this song, David gives joyful, exuberant praise to God for the salvation that he has given to his Anointed One on account of his righteousness. This points forward to the greater salvation that he has given to Jesus Christ by raising him from the dead. By faith in Christ, his salvation is our salvation, and so our repsonse ought to be like David's: one of joyful praise.
