“The Lawful Use of the Law”

In the midst of false teachers misusing the law of God, Paul upholds the right us of the law, which is to show us our sinfulness before a holy God and to drive us to the saving and life-transforming work of Jesus Christ.

Jesus gives three words of encouragement to strengthen you as you long for the presence of Christ.

In the 4th commandment, God declares His crown rights over the way we spend our time. And we should not see this commandment as burdensome. It is a good command from our good God who desires our welfare and to teach us of the true rest that is found only in Christ.
