“False Teaching and Marriage & Foods”

1 Timothy 4:1-6  — Jerry Scheumann

We need to be on guard against false teaching because it is often very subtle, promoting external, legalistic worship rather than true spiritual worship of the heart by faith in Christ. In our passage, we see four components of false teaching in regards to marriage and foods, and the grace-fueled antidote to this false teaching.

In the seventh commandment, God is declaring what love for neighbor looks like in regards to sexuality. In calling us not to commit dultery, God is calling us to purity and faithfulness, for He is pure and faithful.
