In calling us to ‘Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar,’ Jesus is teaching that civil government has a limited, God-given jurisdiction. As we look at the whole of God’s Word, we see that God has instituted 3 forms of government—family, church, and civil—all with their own sphere of responsibility.
