God's wrath comes upon Israel on account of Saul's bloodguilt, and the only way that it can be turned away is if atonement is made. This sobering passage instructs us ont eh seriousness of sin in general and bloodguilt in particular, and the only hope for forgiveness found in the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Jesus gives three words of encouragement to strengthen you as you long for the presence of Christ.
