Christ's resurrection from the dead is the foundation of the Christian faith, because He did not rise from the dead for Himself alone, but for all who are in Him by faith. In our passage, we see the certainty of the resurrection and the glorious significance of His resurrection.

Paul gives further instructions as to how the church is to care for widows in her midst. God forbids younger widows from being enrolled by the church, but they are instead to glorify Christ by pursuing marriage and a domestic calling.
