“Nabal: A Portrait of a Foolish Man”

As David encounters Nabal and Abigail, he is again kept from bloodguilt as he slowly ascends the throne. We also see a sharp contrast betweent the folly of Nabal and the wisdom of Abigail, instructing us to take heed to the bad example of Nabal by seeing the marks of folly and receiving God's solution to folly.

“You Are More Righteous Than I”

As Saul is given into to David's hand where he has an opportunity to put him to death, we see David's righteousness tested and proved, showing that he is qualified to reign as king. This should lead us to see and rejoice in the perfect righteousness of the Son of David who is indeed qualified to reign as King of kings.
